7IM was established by 7 people to have their own pensions managed better. What we wanted was a high level of personal service providing independent institutional calibre investment (i.e. not retail funds and costs), broad global asset allocation (not just equities), online (so we could see them when we wanted), backed up with professional investment advisers, all for a single fee for the entire family’s investments. That meant no trading commissions and the fee related only to the value of the investments – meaning that 7IM could only earn more if the portfolio went up!

Established in 2002, 7IM now looks after around £2 billion of client assets. The 7 are all still there and so are their pensions – although now much closer!
