WORKING TOGETHER

INVESTMENT BASED COMMISSION

Initial commission
When making a direct investment we will state on the application form the commission requirements you have requested. Please ensure that you clearly state your commission requirements when giving us an investment instruction.

If you have any queries relating to how the commission will be paid, you will need to contact the fund or investment platform administrators directly.

If there is a problem with the amount of commission you have been paid, please contact the fund or investment platform administrators directly. If there is a change in unit allocation due to a problem with initial commission, please inform us of the issue and ensure that we receive a copy of the revised contract note so that we are able to update your client's plan accordingly.

Trail commission
If you want to rebate the trail commission that is available on an investment, you will need to confirm with the fund or investment platform administrator they are able to do so.

Please ensure that you clearly state you want to have the trail commission rebated to your client’s SIPP when giving us an investment instruction and we will state this on the application form accordingly.

We appreciate that not all fund or investment platform administrators offer the facility to rebate trail commission. If unwanted trail commission is paid to you, you can pay the monies to your client’s SIPP deposit account and provide us with supporting documentation that this is rebated trail commission. If you normally invoice your client’s SIPP for remuneration, you can reduce the amount of your invoice accordingly. For further information on how to raise an invoice, please click here.

Change of IFA
If you have a new client that has an existing Suffolk Life SIPP, we will write to the fund or investment platform administrators for all investments held within the plan portfolio to inform that you are the new servicing agent for the account.

Please provide us with your agency references so we are able to confirm these to the relevant administrators. If you do not have an agency already established with the administrators of the funds within the portfolio, if required, you will need to establish this directly with them.

When there is a change to the servicing agency on an account, whether the trail commission is paid to the introducing agent or the servicing agent is dependent upon the fund provider. You will need to contact the fund or investment platform administrators directly to confirm their procedure for paying trail commission to new IFAs on an account.
