Meet our people

Our staff are incredibly important to us. We invest in them to ensure that they are able to give you the correct information you need and the best possible service. Last year we invested over 1,000 hours in staff training.

The Management Comittee brings a broad spread of experience and professional qualifications to Suffolk Life. They are open and accessible to our customers, and you can find more about them below.

Will Self

Will Self - Managing Director
Upon completing his degree in Oceanography at Southampton University, during which he spent time working in Canada for the Institute of Ocean Sciences, he joined Suffolk Life in 2003. Initially he headed up an administration team before joining the Corporate Development team where he was instrumental in launching several joint ventures with multi-national insurers.

In 2008 Will became Head of Client services, managing 70 staff, before becoming Director of Operations in 2010. He completed his MBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) at Cranfield School of Management at the same time and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute. In July 2013 Will took over as Managing Director.


Jane Ridgley - Operations Director
Jane joined Legal & General in 1988 and has many years experience of working closely with advisers to deliver their clients' needs in a sales and operational capacity. 15 years experience working directly with IFAs led her to join Workplace Savings in 2009 as Investment Development Director where she progressed to Product Director, responsible for the design and development of the Workplace Savings product and investment proposition. 

Jane joined Suffolk Life as Operations Director in September 2013.  

Renata Chester


Renata Chester - Finance Director
Renata became Finance Director in July 2011, having been IT & Change Director since early 2008. Whilst maternity leave took up much of her 2010, Renata has been with Suffolk Life since 1997 and was instrumental in redesigning our IT platform which is the core of all our business processing.

She has a joint honours degree in Accountancy and Statistics, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995. She has been Committee Member of the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes and speaks regularly at conferences on SIPP technical matters.

Nigel Rodgers

Nigel Rodgers - IT and Change Director 
Nigel joined Legal & General in 2003
. He has worked extensively across the Retail Savings business, having held a number of Business Performance, Business Change and Strategy roles, including: Head of Business Performance - Individual Wealth, HNW Strategy Director, Product Operations Director and HNW Delivery Director.

Nigel joined Suffolk Life from the Group-wide Financial Services, where he managed a team delivering finance systems and actuarial change across the Savings, Protection and Annuities divisions. Nigel has an honours degree in Business Administration.  

Greg Kingston - Head of Marketing 
Greg joined Suffolk Life in 2007, following earlier roles with Aviva and LV=, stepping up to the Management Committee in July 2013 as Head of Marketing. His experience as a financial adviser gives him insight into the demands of both advisers and their clients, and how best to support them.

Greg is vocal in financial trade and social media, sharing his thoughts and insight into the SIPP market.   

Sean Osborne - Head of Sales
Sean has 18 years' experience within the financial services industry, starting his career at Aviva, and moving to Legal & General in 2005 holding roles as IFA Sales Consultant and Pension Development Manager. Sean moved to Suffolk Life as Sales & Key Account Director in 2011, responsible for the Sales Executive team and key accounts, and was subsequently promoted to Head of Sales in January 2014.
